Despite the role of fossil fuels in our energy grid shrinking, our fossil fuel production continues to grow to serve our export markets: we are the world’s third-largest fossil fuel exporter.
No matter where our fossil fuels are burned, the pollution harms Australians by heating the global climate and exacerbating extreme weather events.
We need to go further and faster to protect Australians from the worst effects of the climate crisis by phasing out these polluting exports with our trading partners. The first step is to end new and expanded fossil fuel projects.
