This guide primarily draws on 2026 research by RedBridge Group for the Climate Council: a survey of 2009 voters across the middle and outer suburbs of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, plus focus groups, against a backdrop of war in Iran, fuel price spikes and shifting politics. It explains what resonates, and
who these voters want to hear it from.

For example: Western Sydney is one of the hottest urban areas in the country, and where households are rapidly installing rooftop solar and batteries.
