The Pacific Islands Forum was held in Suva, Fiji from the 11th – 14th July, 2022. This was the first in-person Forum since 2019 in Tuvalu, and the first for the new Australian Federal Government, making the event an important opportunity to set a new tone for Australia’s relationship with the Pacific and secure strong cooperation on climate change, the region’s greatest threat.

Ahead of the forum, Climate Council released a new report, A Fight for Survival: tackling the climate crisis is key to security in the Blue Pacific, and sent two staff to Fiji: to meet and work alongside other international climate groups, and report back to global news organisations everything that happened on the ground.
