David Templeman

David Templeman is a former Director-General of Emergency Management Australia (DGEMA) (2000-2006), in particular serving during the 2003 bushfires. As part of his DGEMA appointment, he coordinated national preparedness for the Sydney Olympics in 2000, contributed to enhanced security arrangements in Australia since the 2001 September 11 attacks, Bali bombings and London bombings in 2005. After the South East Asian earthquake/tsunami in 2004, David managed several Australian task forces in the assistance effort. With a strong interest in community and preventative health, David is currently the president of the Public Health Association of Australia. David is also the CEO of the Australian Council of Deans of Education.
